Snehanshu Saha holds Masters Degree in Mathematical Sciences at Clemson University and Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2008, both degrees with full scholarship. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Fellowship during PhD. After working briefly at his Alma mater, Snehanshu moved to the University of Texas El Paso as a regular full time faculty in the department of Mathematical Sciences.

He is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at PES University since 2011 and heads the Center for Applied Mathematical Modeling and Simulation. He has been also a visiting Professor at the Department of Statistics, University of Georgia, USA. Snehanshu published 60 peer-reviewed articles in International journals and conferences. He is an IEEE Senior member, Governing Council-International Astrostatistics Association and Chair-Elect, IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter. Snehanshu’s current and future research interests lie in Computational modeling in Scientometrics, Statistical models in Healthcare and Machine Learning in Astronomy.

Snehanshu leads the research program imparting state-of-the -art mathematical modeling and computational paradigms to the field of Astronomy. The research program encompasses study in Machine Learning creating Repository and the first complete Web-Dictionary of Scholastic Information System in Astronomical fields. He initiated a new focus group on Astroinformatics, supported by IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Section (Please visit our research group online at http://astrirg.org/). Snehanshu created a collaborative platform of research where astronomers, mathematicians and computer scientists solve problems in astronomy through the application of techniques developed in data science. He develops new theory and methods and applies those in habitability study of exoplanets.

Dr. Prasant Misra is a scientist with TCS Research, where he works on intelligent cyber-physical systems for smart mobility. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Sydney (2012); and completed his postdoc from the Swedish Institute of Computer Science, Stockholm (2013). He has worked in different roles and capabilities for Keane Inc. (now a unit of NTT Data Corporation), CSIRO (Australia), and Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber-Physical Systems at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

He has received several recognitions for his work, of which it is noteworthy to mention the: MIT TR35 India (“Top 10 Innovators under the age of 35 in India”) in 2017; ERCIM “Alain Bensoussan” and “Marie Curie” Fellowship in 2012; Australian Government’s AusAID “Australian Leadership Awards” in 2008. 

Prasant is an active volunteer of technical education and training. He serves on the editorial board of the IEEE Communications Magazine as Series Editor of Internet of Things, and the Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks Journal as Area Editor. He is the Founding Chair of the IMOBILE ACM Chapter (the India chapter of ACM SIGMOBILE); Chair of the Technical Subcommittee for IoT of FutureSkills Prime (a joint initiative between MeitY and NASSCOM on e-learning); member of the executive committees of IEEE Bangalore Section (as Vice-Chair – Industry Activities); IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter (as Chair); and COMSNETS Association.
