Mr. Bindu Madhava
Bapu S.Bindhumadhava is Sc – ‘G’ & Senior Director, at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), MeitY, Govt of India Bangalore. He heads the Real-Time Systems (RTS) & Internet of Things(IoT) activities.
He has around 29 years of Industry & Information Technology experience. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Electrical &Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University, Post- Graduate Diploma in Systems Management from NIIT and MS (Electronics & Controls) from BITS, Pilani.
He has authored more than 3 journal papers, 42 refereed International & National Conferences papers. He a fellow of Institution of Engineers (IE). Ms. Geetha Manjunath
Dr. Geetha Manjunath is the Co-founder and CEO of NIRAMAI Health Analytix, a startup developing a novel breast cancer screening solution. Geetha has over 25 years in IT research and has created many innovative prototypes, patents, publications and new products. Till end of 2016, she was the head of Data Analytics Research at the Xerox Research India, where she supervised many interesting projects using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in healthcare, smart cities and customer care domains. Before that, she was a Principal Research Scientist at Hewlett Packard Labs India and a Technical Lead at C-DAC Bangalore.
Geetha is a gold medalist from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore from where she holds a Master’s Degree and PhD from Computer Science and Automation Department. She was recently recognized by Indian Government with BIRAC WinER (Women in Entrepreneural Research) Award for 2018. She was earlier the winner of 2009 NASCCOM IT Innovator and 2010 MIT TR Grand Challenges for technologist. She is the author of a book on Cloud Technologies called “Moving to the Cloud”. She is currently the Chair of IEEE Computer Society, Bangalore Chapter, and on the Governing Board of CCICI. She holds 14 US patents and many more pending grant.

Snehanshu Saha holds Masters Degree in Mathematical Sciences at Clemson University and Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2008, both degrees with full scholarship. He was also the recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Fellowship during PhD. After working briefly at his Alma mater, Snehanshu moved to the University of Texas El Paso as a regular full time faculty in the department of Mathematical Sciences.
He is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at PES University since 2011 and heads the Center for Applied Mathematical Modeling and Simulation. He has been also a visiting Professor at the Department of Statistics, University of Georgia, USA. Snehanshu published 60 peer-reviewed articles in International journals and conferences. He is an IEEE Senior member, Governing Council-International Astrostatistics Association and Chair-Elect, IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter. Snehanshu’s current and future research interests lie in Computational modeling in Scientometrics, Statistical models in Healthcare and Machine Learning in Astronomy.
Snehanshu leads the research program imparting state-of-the -art mathematical modeling and computational paradigms to the field of Astronomy. The research program encompasses study in Machine Learning creating Repository and the first complete Web-Dictionary of Scholastic Information System in Astronomical fields. He initiated a new focus group on Astroinformatics, supported by IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Section (Please visit our research group online at http://astrirg.org/). Snehanshu created a collaborative platform of research where astronomers, mathematicians and computer scientists solve problems in astronomy through the application of techniques developed in data science. He develops new theory and methods and applies those in habitability study of exoplanets.

Dr. Vishwas Lakkundi

Vishwas is currently Principal Architect at Smarten Spaces and leads its IoT & AI Platform. He specializes in standardization, architecture, protocol stacks, device management and information security aspects of Internet of Things. He is an IoT subject matter expert of international repute and is regularly invited as a keynote speaker at several international and national IoT events.
He has 17+ years of applied R&D experience in wireless communications & networking, out of which 8+ years are in IoT. He was awarded the Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship twice by the European Commission and contributed to several European R&D projects in the IoT/M2M/WSN domain.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of IEEE Internet of Things Community, IEEE Technical Committee on Security & Privacy, IEEE P-1912 WG, and IET. He is a member of CISO/TiE Taskforce on IoT Security, Secretary of IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter, and Executive Committee Member of IET Bangalore Network.

Anand J, a graduate in Computer Science and Engineering, is currently working as a Software Engineer in Information and Storage Group at Dell EMC, Bangalore. A REM Scholar in April 2016 cycle, Anand has always been active in IEEE, particularly in IEEE Computer Society. He held various positions including Vice Chairman of IEEE Computer Society India SAC in 2016, Chairman of IEEE Computer Society Chapter of FISAT, Founding Chairman of ACM Student Chapter of FISAT, Technical Coordinator for Virtual Astronaut Project of IEEE India Council SAC, Team Lead of IEEE Compute newsletter and Problem Setter for IEEE Programming League 1.0.
Anand is a computer enthusiast who is also interested in art, blogging and photography. He have worked on various projects that are spread across the fields of AI, Machine Learning, Security in Computing, Cloud Computing, Storage Infrastructures and Human Computer Interaction. His projects are primarily based on vulnerability analysis tools and HCI Systems for user authentication and verification. He is currently serving as an Executive Committee Member and Secretary of IEEE Computer Society Bangalore Chapter and also actively involved in the students’ activities coordination within the chapter.

Udayasree Gorantla has Masters degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai. She has 8 years of experience in developing wireless technology products at Center for Development of Telematics. Her interest extends to IoT and Management of Network density in future networks. Dr. Kartik Muralidharan

Kartik Muralidharan holds a Masters Degree in Networked Computer Systems from the University College London and a PhD in Information Systems from Singapore Management University (SMU). His area of research is in Pervasive computing with a focus on understanding user behaviour through mobile context. His research interests include solving real-world problems towards the practical realization and deployment of existing mobile technologies, within an enterprise or emerging markets, as well as dwelling into the ‘usability’ and ‘usefulness’ attributes of these technologies. Currently he is a Research Scientist at the Research and Innovation Labs at TCS looking at sensing human context for geriatric care.
Previously, he was part of the Convergence Research group at SETLabs, Infosys Technologies as a team lead, with a focus on developing intellectual property, conceptualizing and creating new solutions and technologies in the area of pervasive computing, enterprise mobility, and emerging technology areas such as wireless sensor networks. He has also been associated with the National University of Singapore and the Indian Institute of Science as a researcher related to TCP and wireless mesh systems.

Ms. Hima Patel
Hima Patel is a research manager at IBM Research Lab and leads a team of researchers in problems at the intersection of NLP and machine learning with an aim to build scalable systems that can be deployed into IBM products. In her 13 years of experience spanning Visa, Shell Research and GE, she has worked on several research problems spanning from object detection in medical images to anomaly detection from sensor data collected from machines like compressors and turbines. She is also actively involved with the organization of Grace Hopper India conference for last three years and is also an executive committee member for IEEE Computer Society, Bangalore Section. She holds a B.E. in Computer Science from GCET and M Tech in Information and Communication Technology from DA-IICT.
Ms. Archana Mathur
Archana is working as Technical lead at Cynepia Technologies. Prior to this, she has worked as Project Linked Personnel at Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore in a project related to Deep Learning and Pattern Recognition. She holds BE degree in Computer Science and Engineering and a Masters Degree in Web Technologies from UVCE, Bangalore and has topped all the semesters during her ME. She has recently submitted her thesis in Machine learning and Scientometrics from VTU. She is an Associate Editor for Special Edition on Machine Learning in ‘Journal Of Scientometrics Research’ since 2017.
She has been actively working as Technical Lead in SciBase Project in the Center for Applied Mathematical Modeling and Simulation. Mr. Deepak Varadam
Deepak Varadam holds a Masters Degree in Microsystems Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (Scotland), U.K. and P.G.Diploma in ECE from Napier University, U.K. He worked as a Postgraduate Masters Research Scientist under Biomedical Microengineering Group (BMG) at Heriot-Watt University. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Computer Science and Engineering Department at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) since 2010. Dr. Nithin Nagaraj
Nithin Nagaraj has Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (1999), Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, USA (2001) and PhD from National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru (NIAS, 2010). He was a visiting faculty in Mathematics at IISER Pune for a brief while before joining as Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus for the period 2009-2013.
He has worked as Research Scientist and Lead Scientist at GE Global Research Bengaluru in the area of biomedical signal analysis and medical imaging technologies (2001-2004, 2013-2015) before joining the Consciousness Studies Programme at NIAS in October 2015. His research interests include studying the Information complexity of Brain networks, Causality testing, Complexity theories of Consciousness, Chaos theory and Cryptography. He has co-authored 15+ international journal publications, 40+ national and international conference presentations with over 750+ Google scholar citations. He is also a co-inventor of 8 U.S. patent applications (2 granted).

Mr. Raghavendra Bhat
Raghavendra Bhat is Principal Engineer at Intel Technologies India Pvt Ltd. He has a BTech in Computer Science from NIT Warangal, PGDBA (Finance) from Symbiosis Pune and currently pursuing a MBL from National Law School, Bengaluru. He has 19 years of Industry experience spread across domains like Network Management, Embedded platform development for Mobile and IoT segments, Biometrics and ML/DL as applied to Speech use cases. His interests extends to SW architecture methodologies especially requirements gathering, Blockchain where he is on the standardization panel of ISO and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and Aadhaar ecosystem where he has contributed towards Iris biometric device development and specifying device security requirements.
Dr. Somasekhar Davala
Soma S Dhavala is an ML Architect, operating at the interface of Statistics, Machine Learning, Computing, and Internet of Things. His interests are in Graphs, Meta Machine Learning and their application in representing, and reasoning with information. Soma currently consults for EkStep. Since 2014 he is leading the efforts in designing Machine Learning Infrastructure and developing various DataProducts concerned with Learning such as Recommendation Engines, Auto-Tagging Content, Auto Scaling Infrastructure. He designed and ran a Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing immersive bootcamp for NIIT. He is also working on Deep Variational Inference with his collaborators in academia. He is a co-founder and CTO of VitalTicks Pvt Ltd, a start-up in the digital healthcare space.
Soma is also a founder of mlsquare ,a foundation working towards democratizing AI, starting with 1) Make ML interoparable, 2) Make ML explainable and 3) Make ML self-learnable, by extensively using as well as extending Deep Learning technologies.
In the past, Soma worked with Dow AgroSciences in the area of ML applications in Systems Biology and with General Electric Global Research Center in the area of Information Theory and Parallel Computing.
Soma obtained his Ph.D (TAMU, 2010) in Statistics where he worked on applying Bayesian Nonparametrics to systems biology (2010), has a Masters (IIT-M, 2000) in EE and a B.E (SRKREC – Andhra University, 1997) in ECE. He also worked as a post-doc close to a year in the area of Dynamical Systems at TAMU. He has over 30+ publications and multiple patents.
