Babu is VP of AI at SymphonyAI where he leads the development of AI algorithms for healthcare applications at Concerto HealthAI, a subsidiary of SymphonyAI. This includes building a suite of information extraction algorithms from clinical notes, lab reports and other documents to create rich patient journeys at scale.Prior to joining SymphonyAI, Babu was Senior Principal Scientist at GE Global Research overseeing many pioneering programs in iot and has led AI programs across many verticals in GE over a 14 year career. He was also Technology leader of Biosignatures & Signal Processing building and developing global healthcare analytics research teams in medical image analysis, biomedical signal processing and computational biology. Earlier, Babu worked at Affymetrix, Qualcomm and Nortel Networks.Babu has a BTech in Computer Science from IIT Madras, an MS in Mathematics from University of Illinois, Urbana and a PhD in Computer Science from the Courant Institute, NYU.Babu is passionate about algorithms, AI and advanced computing applied to solve problems in the real world
Dr. Monojit Choudhury is a Researcher in Microsoft Research Lab India since 2007. His research interests cut across the areas of Linguistics, Cognition and Computation. Currently, He is working on script and code-mixing, especially in social media and web search. His team at MS Research introduced the notion of Mixed-Script Information Retrieval, where the query and the documents can be in different, and possibly, more than one scripts but in the same language; the task is to retrieve the relevant documents across scripts. Such situations arise quite commonly for Indian languages, where the documents (say song lyrics or posts on discussion forums) can be either written in the native script or in Romanized form. In fact, a large amount of Indian language (and also Greek, Arabic, etc.) content on the Web is available in Romanized form. Mixed-script IR entails challenges such as indexing cross-script indexing, handling transliteration induced spelling variations in queries and documents, code-mixed query understanding and query completion.Code-mixing or use of more than one languages in a single conversation or utterance is a phenomenon that is observed in all multilingual societies. Due to social media and online forums, code-mixing is now rampant on the Internet. Monojit is interested in developing core NLP techniques for identifying and processing code-mixed text. Sameep Mehta is a senior manager and STSM at IBM Research India. He joined IBM Research after completing his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 2006. His current research interests are in AI & Machine Learning, He spends lot of time to develop algorithms and systems for data lifecycle management.
Adarsa is a Senior Data Scientist at StackRoute Labs. She works on designing and developing Machine Learning based solutions for Sunbird, an open source platform being developed by Ekstep. She leads the team in building Machine Learning Infrastructure, and in solving problems concerned with Learning such as Content Auto Tagging and Recommendation Engines, using NLP and other techniques. Before working on the Sunbird, an open-source initiate for Social Good, Adarsa worked with an early stage startup, Rplus Analytics to develop a cloud based Demand Forecasting solution in retail domain. She has also worked as a Business and Technology Analyst with Deloitte India.
Adarsa completed her M.Tech from DAIICT in 2014 where her thesis was based on feature extraction for detection of synthetic and natural speech. She completed her B.tech in ECE from Amrita School of Engineering in 2011. During her bachelors she has worked on Chaotic Computing and was an active member of IEEE student chapter. When not building data products, Adarsa likes to delve into linguistics, travel and paint.
Debasis Bal leads the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence at Fidelity Investments, India. His team of data scientists are working on various AI/ML driven business applications like Recommendation Systems, Virtual Assistants, Enterprise Search. Debasis has 25 years of experience, of which 6 years have been with Fidelity. Prior to Fidelity, Debasis led Data mining Lab of GE’s Global Research Division supporting various GE businesses.
Abhijit is an Information Technology executive with over 25 years of experience in various domains including data science, data governance, enterprise applications of AI & ML, NLP implementations, enterprise security, data privacy, secure data analytics, product development, platform development & management, business development & operations, and digital strategy.
He is a co-founder and currently CEO, at Azureiken Technologies, where he spends a significant part of his time helping clients incorporate DATAIKEN Cloud Data Science platform, for their Data Science and Artificial Intelligence projects and journey. Abhijit is also lends his time as a core member of the Product Strategy and Application focus group formed to help enterprises and businesses develop this data science strategy.
Juby Jose is Senior Product Manager with Intel Corporation and has 18 years of industry experience spanning Embedded Software Engineering and Product Management. Currently she is leading AI applications in domain of Speech processing and Video Analytics. Her expertise areas include Mobile platforms, IoT applications and Machine learning and Deep Learning applications. Juby has completed her MBA from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
Cohan Sujay Carlos is a Machine Learning researcher with 10 years’ experience mainly in applying AI to text analysis. He presently heads ‘Aiaioo Labs’, a research lab specialising in AI and Machine Learning in Bangalore.
Cohan studied Machine Learning at UC Berkeley, and worked for IBM, Sun and Microsoft Research. He has published several papers on natural language processing and developed new machine learning algorithms. He has more recently been studying methods for making deep learning algorithms more useful for enterprises
Vishwa Nath Jha is a serial entrepreneur, thought leader, researcher, founder and CEO of Saarthi.ai – an omnichannel multilingual conversational AI enterprise platform. His primary research areas at Saarthi.ai revolves around NLP & Speech technologies in low resource languages. He’s part of multiple government & industry committees which are responsible for designing policies to spur the research ecosystem pertaining to Indian languages. He’s on a mission to realise the dream of complete digital inclusion in India.
With a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Suri started his career at Wipro InfoTech as Senior software Engineer.and worked for close to a decade before co-founding his first startup in 1999.Suri has track record of working in diverse domains such as Compilers, Network Management, Cable OSS and Health care IT, Education Technology and has led both local and remote teams in building products which have been successfully deployed. He has worked in all aspects of a product’s life cycle starting from conceptualization, prototyping, development, deployment and customer support.
Led the effort at developing multiple NLP and deep-learning based solutions for customer address validation at Amazon India. This work has received extensive coverage and has been quoted in multiple press articles:
